HISTORY AND FACTS ABOUT VORTEXTM

VortexTM has only been around since 1997. However, the parent company,Kott Koatings, Inc. has been in the coatings industry since the early 50's!Coatings have been our livelihood for over 5 decades. The VortexTM materialwas actually originally designed for a flooring application that Kott Koatingswas doing in Spain in 1991-92. The original glazes that were developed to coatthe wall tiles were not durable enough for the floors in the milk factory thatwas being brought up to code. They needed a coating that was seamless, extremely durable, could be applied around their pipes and tanks, could be completed in a weekend and  they could drive a forklift on it on Monday. It took about a year to develop the VortexTM material for this project and it was eventually spun off on its own and into the truck market. Portability was one of the key issues of being able to do this job. This is why we constantly say"VORTEXTM , It' s Not Just For Trucks Anymore".

The VortexTM spray system is so unique it is Patent Pending: The VortexTM system utilizes a very special air circulation blower system. This gives the system the lowest pressure system in the industry. Since it's completely portable and requires only 110v to operate, it can be taken to the the job site or any auto dealership.  VortexTM does such a good job, it can even be sprayed outdoors.

VortexTM material:

The VortexTM Liner Material is developed using an equal mix of Polyurea and Polyurethane so you know you are getting the strongest liner material available, plus it dries in only 5 seconds(many liners take hours or days to cure). The material can be sprayed from 1/8to 18 inches and the material bonds to itself so you can spray custom logo sand graphics. Should you damage the liner, it can easily be repaired by any VortexTM dealer in the country (many liners cannot be re-sprayed due to their low adhesion ability).

Texture:

The VortexTM system uses a special HVLP atomizer tip.This tip allows the installer to achieve any desired texture. The texture can be either ultra fine or ultra thick and anywhere in between.

Traction:

VortexTM greatly improves traction so your loads wont slide around. We also offer 3 levels of non-skid from Residential to Industrial

Fading:

It's a fact, all liners will fade in the sun, but with our 2levels of top coats, there simply is NO sun fade, chalking or discolorations with any of our colors - not even on pool decks.
